Isamu Lo and Behold (Tigerella) x Brandywine Wellington (Welly) - 15/10/12

Picture
Mating 21st September - Birth 15th October 2012 (day 24) - in partnership with Lloyd of Eximius rats

This mating was planned to take advantage of Tigerella's fantastic temperament and looks, as well as maximise the good genes coming from her Mum Lo and granddad Tom who both were ageing very well from there litter.  The buck for this litter was the wonderful Welly from Annette at Brandywine rattery.  Welly was half Tabi and half Brandywine, his dad coming from the best litter in terms of health and lifespan in Tabi line history.  This litter was aimed on maximising that influence and hopefully cementing a lovely line of rats, with a bit of extra from Brandywine, who keep excellent records and has a good record with lifespan and health, importantly with different issues than we see here.

Tigerella gave birth to 6 lovely babies.  4 agouti's (2 boys, 2 girls) and 2 topaz babies (1 of each).  We had one clearly different shade of agouti, with Limmoney being much paler than her brothers and sisters (so probably carrying Red eyed dilute).  Sadly at 4.5 weeks the little topaz boy, named "Sundrop" died suddenly.  He was due to go to a wonderful home with a good friend Kelly, but died before he had the chance.  Its no coincidence that her rattery now bears his name.  The other babies thrived and turned into wonderful rats who are well loved at there homes.  All, apart from little Sundrop, are still doing well.  They are as follows;
