Limi - Valiance Limited Edition - 10/03/12 - 09/11/12

Variety: Silvered Black

Limi was a very confident outgoing rat, very much into exploring, chasing feathers and climbing up and on things he shouldn't though has settled into a solid dependable (but always a little reluctant) alpha.

Limi was a gorgeous lad, really striking with his silvering and not surprisingly did very well in shows. He was also a lovely calm boy, happily mixing with everyone in the cage and one of the best behaved rats I've had, either that or he cunningly has everything pinned on the other rats.

As an old man he was very dignified, despite his weak back legs.  He lived for a good long time, keeping his weight up with regular baby food which he loved.  He was put to sleep when a facial abscess threatened to make his remaining time unpleasant.

Luke - Valiance Made You Look 10/03/10 - 23/07/12

Variety: Russian Blue

Luke came to me with his brother Limi and at first very much wanted to take over the cage, unfortunately he was a bit of a coward, which doesn't work with being an alpha.  When his attempts at taking over the cage got a little too much (and the oldies he lived with bore the scratches) i decided it was time he lost his bits.

Since his neutering he went back to being the happy chap he'd always been and was much more chilled at the bottom of my cage hierarchy (even the babies pushed him around).

Over time his back legs became quite weak but he happily pottered around enjoying his food and his occasional wanders very much.  One day  I noticed his front paws were getting weak, within a few days he was showing neurological symptoms.

With everything else going on i decided to have him put to sleep whilst he was still happy and most importantly able to wash which he very much loved to do
