Yoshi - Nezumi Yoshi - 05/04/09 - 26/05/11

Yoshi came to me with his brother Mu, he was the runt of the litter and came to me to give him extra care.  He was a really special boy, he loved everyone he met and was a real clown.  He was gentle and friendly and spent many a rat show travelling around on peoples shoulders enjoying the experience.

Yoshi was excellent at agility, I got a real shock the first time I entered him when he raced around and did exactly what I said in no time at all.  Needless to say he made it as an agility champion fairly quickly on.

He was a really clumsy youngster, managing to fall off most things at one time or other, and this kept up as he grew into an old man with HLD. Despite his disabilities he refused to grow old gracefully, still climbing around the cage even when his back legs barely worked and his heart was showing signs of failing too.  In the end I opted to put him to sleep when he couldn't climb up the cage any more and was visibly upset by this.

Kabbas Odin - 07/03/09 - 18/05/11

Odin came to me with his brother Loki from Kabbas rats.  He was my second rex and a very sweet boy.  He had odd health issues from day one, making duck type grunting noises from early in life.  This turned out to be a lazy larynx rather than any infection and gave him an almost comic sound and he quacked around.

He was the kind of rat who was a real rats rat, low in the hierarchy he looked after everyone and was very popular for a groom or a cuddle.

In old age with his rexing fur and grunting he looked like he was falling apart, despite this he stayed fit and active until he passed in his sleep surrounded by his friends.

Kabbas Loki - 07/03/09 - 30/12/10

Loki was a lovely solid lad, a natural alpha who was loyal and dependable.  I used to call him my dog rat, as he often followed me around at my heel until I picked him up for a cuddle and skritch.

He cam to me from Kabbas stud with his brother Odin as company for my old men at the time.  He was cheeky and mischievous as a kitten but quickly matured into a very handsome steady buck.  He won the stud buck shield for me, my first ever win of it, though its been at my house a few times since.

He sadly passed away over the Christmas break.  He was staying with my parents whilst I visited other relatives and when I came back I knew something was off in the way he behaved.  A few hours later he was virtually comatose lying on my chest, by the morning he wasn't responding at all and I took him to be put to sleep.

Mu - Nezumi Isamu - 05/04/09 - 19/07/10

Mu came to me from Nezumi Rattery as a bit of an accident.  I had arranged to have a couple of boys from Shunamite to keep my ageing pair of boys company before there was only one, then the litter failed.  In my panic I managed to arrange 2 pairs of kittens to arrive.  This worked out wonderfully as the 4 were a brilliant group.

Mu was named for courage and bravery, he was my real heart rat and such a special lad.  I knew it was meant to be when I picked him up and he just sat in my hand licking me.

From then on it was pretty much love, not only did he love me he wowed pretty much everyone he met with his confidence and friendliness.  His best moment was when he got best pet in a show and spent a good part of the day being handed from person to person happily basking in being the centre of attention.  He knew the world revolved around him.

Sadly Mu was hit hard by CK after a introduction and show in the same weekend shortly after becoming alpha knocked him badly.  He fought hard but in the end he wasn't improving and his quality of life was poor so he was put to sleep, never to be forgotten.
